About Guy Meurice

Guy is a web developer with a company providing e-commerce and IT services to independent DIY stores. He previously had a similar role with SAGA and various other local companies in East Kent.

He also set up and helped run a restaurant business in Folkestone and Canterbury for eight years.

Guy joined Thanington Parish Council in 2024 as he felt it was crucial for local communities to have a voice on local issues.

Guy says that local facilities and services need to be protected and improved. He will be a strong voice for local people.

“Wincheap is the focus of a lot of Canterbury’s expansion. As your councillor I will ensure that residents’ views are heard when decisions are being made about its future”

Now a new Local Plan is being consulted upon. Residents are telling Guy that there should be no loss of recreational facilities or open space in Wincheap ward, and he will ensure that those views are reflected in the Local Plan consultation.

Councillor Mike Sole, Deputy Leader of Canterbury City Council and Leader of the Liberal Democrat Group says;

“I have no doubt that Guy will be an excellent addition to our current group of hardworking councillors. He has the best interests of the residents of Wincheap ward at heart and will work diligently for the ward and the wider city community.”
