Lib Dem gains at the KCC elections

News of the 2025 KCC election has been dominated by the collapse of the Conservative vote and the 57 seats gained by Reform UK. However, the election has also seen the Lib Dems double their number of councillors from 6 to 12.
In Canterbury we were delighted that Mike Sole’s deserved reputation as a hard-working councillor was rewarded with an increased vote share, retaining Canterbury South with 56% of the vote.
Mike will now be joined at County Hall by Alex Ricketts who won a hard-fought campaign, gaining Canterbury North with 34% of the vote.
