In the most recent KCC elections, Lib Dem councillors were elected in both Canterbury North and Canterbury South.
Liberal Democrats also continue to deliver as part of the Canterbury City Council coalition. For example, the council has:
• Re-opened Sturry Park & Ride
• Brought back Canterbury market
• Introduced a resident car parking rate
• Acquired additional council homes
• Protected parish council funding.

Lib Dem County Councillors Richard Streatfeild, Tim Prater, Antony Hook, Mike Sole, Colin Sefton, Geoffrey Samme, Trudy Dean and Alex Ricketts all asked questions at the Kent County Council meeting of 18 December.
The future of the new 420 pupil Thanington Primary School, initially due to open in 2025, is now in significant doubt.
Thanington parish councillor Guy Meurice, selected by local Liberal Democrats to contest the Wincheap Ward by-election.
The petition states: ‘We are proud of our national flags, but the recent flags put up on lamp posts in Herne Bay were put up illegally and do not represent the whole community. We ask Kent County Council to remove them…’
